Nathalia Munck Machado is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus and the Stephenson Cancer Center. She is a behavioral and public health scientist committed to advancing equitable, evidence-based approaches to tobacco and nicotine cessation. Her research integrates adaptive intervention design with mobile health tools, ecological momentary assessment, and health systems data to better understand treatment needs and optimize support over time. A key focus of her work is improving engagement and outcomes among adults who use both combustible cigarettes and e-cigarettes. Her goal is to generate evidence that can be scaled to strengthen cancer prevention and control efforts. As a 2026 MAPCI Fellow, Machado joins a community advancing rigorous methods for developing and evaluating interventions in cancer prevention and control.
