
Maya Stemmer is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Washington’s BRiTE Center in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She earned a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management and brings extensive experience as a health data scientist. Her research sits at the intersection of machine learning, natural language processing, and digital health. She uses mobile and social data to better understand human behavior, predict health states, and develop approaches that can promote well-being at scale. Stemmer thrives in multidisciplinary environments and is especially interested in translating data-driven insights into practical, scalable solutions for health and care delivery. As a 2026 MAPCI Fellow, she joins a community focused on advancing rigorous methods for the design, optimization, and evaluation of interventions in cancer prevention and control.
