Erica Phillips is the Jack Fishman Professor of Cancer Prevention and a Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, and she serves as an attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She holds an MD and an MS. Her research focuses on obesity, cardiometabolic disease, and cancer prevention, with particular attention to treatment access, the real-world effectiveness of anti-obesity medications, and health equity. She leverages large clinical datasets to study outcomes in routine care and pairs these analyses with community-engaged approaches to reduce disparities and improve preventive care in diverse populations. Across her work, she aims to strengthen evidence that supports equitable prevention strategies and clinically meaningful improvements in health. As a 2026 MAPCI Fellow, Phillips joins a community advancing rigorous methods for intervention development and evaluation in cancer prevention and control.
