His research program spans two main areas: healthcare delivery interventions in geriatric oncology, and cancer survivorship, caregiving, and outcomes research. Across this work, he contributes to efforts aligned with the National Cancer Institute’s goal of reducing the burden of cancer through improvements in healthcare delivery and survivorship. He is a recipient of the Paul Calabresi K12 Career Development Award in Clinical Oncology, which supports the development of early-career investigators in clinically relevant cancer research. As a 2026 MAPCI Fellow, Fauer joins a community focused on rigorous methods for designing, optimizing, and evaluating interventions in cancer prevention and control.
