Adam C. Alexander is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and serves as Assistant Director of Access and Opportunity at the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center. He also co-leads the HEROES Research Lab at the TSET Health Promotion Research Center. Dr. Alexander’s research program is dedicated to eliminating cancer-related health disparities, with a particular focus on Black and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. Across his portfolio, he develops culturally responsive, community-engaged interventions that are enabled by digital tools and designed to fit real-world contexts. He currently leads multiple community-driven studies that use digital applications to increase cancer screening uptake and reduce smoking rates among Black adults in Oklahoma. As a 2026 MAPCI Fellow, Alexander joins a community advancing rigorous methods for optimizing and evaluating interventions in cancer prevention and control.
